What started as an unexpected turnaround in San Diego is turning into something much bigger. This Sunday, closing out MLP Chicago, Dallas Flash beat the Brooklyn Pickleball Team in the Super Sunday DreamBreaker, securing their second straight title in just two weeks.
And it needs to be said clearly: Brooklyn gave absolutely nothing away. They arrived at this final as one of the most solid teams of the entire season, and fought to the very last point of the DreamBreaker — the tensest tiebreaker format in all of MLP. This wasn't a win by accident or because of an off day for the opponent. It was a high-level match between two teams that took it completely seriously.
MLP's own official feed documented Dallas's road to the final with the energy that's already become this team's trademark: they celebrated JW Johnson and Augie Ge, who, according to the official caption, "turned the entire court into their territory" on their way to the final. And, as has become tradition, there was no shortage of Danni-Elle Townsend's now-recognizable celebration dance after securing the spot in the final — "a little post-win dance from Danni," as MLP described it on social media.

Unlike other teams, Dallas won't be participating in the regular season's final stop — they head straight into the playoffs, which kick off August 6th, right in their own city.

While Dallas rests with the highest momentum in the entire league, the rest of the field still has one more stop before playoff positioning is finalized. From July 30 to August 2, MLP closes out its regular season at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, inside Walt Disney World, in Orlando, Florida — the first time in league history an event is held at that complex.
Twelve teams will be present for this final chance to lock in playoff positioning: Brooklyn Pickleball Team, California Black Bears, Carolina Hogs, Chicago Slice, Las Vegas Night Owls, Los Angeles Mad Drops, Miami Pickleball Club, New Jersey 5s, Orlando Squeeze, Palm Beach Royals, Phoenix Flames, and St. Louis Shock — with the home team, Orlando Squeeze, looking to close out the regular season in style in front of their own crowd.
