Ho Chi Minh City is hosting a tournament that confirms professional pickleball has conquered Asia — and that the APP Tour is leading that expansion

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam — Thousands of miles from the American courts where modern pickleball was born, something historic is happening this week at the D-Joy South Saigon complex. The BIDV Cup 2026 | D-Joy Pickleball Tour Leg 2 is not simply another international tournament — it is the most compelling proof to date that professional pickleball has crossed borders, oceans, and cultures, and that Asia is no longer an emerging market for the sport. It is a destination.

What Is the D-Joy Pickleball Tour?
The D-Joy Pickleball Tour is Vietnam's professional pickleball league — and one of the most ambitious in the world outside of the United States. Created and operated by D-Joy, an organization that has built from scratch the largest pickleball infrastructure in Asia, the tour operates in official partnership with the Association of Pickleball Players — the APP Tour — giving it international status and attracting top-level professional players from around the world.
The D-Joy South Saigon complex, home to this Leg 2, is itself a statement of intent. With 52 courts in a single complex, located in the Tan My Ward neighborhood of Ho Chi Minh City, it is the largest pickleball venue in the Asian continent — and one of the largest on the planet.
The tournament is backed by BIDV — the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam — as Title Sponsor, one of the country's most important financial institutions, which has bet on pickleball as a platform for visibility and connection with the Vietnamese sporting community.

What Has Happened Over the First Two Days
The tournament kicked off on June 17 with an atmosphere that surprised even veterans of the international circuit. The courts at D-Joy South Saigon filled up from day one with Vietnamese fans who followed the action with an intensity and knowledge of the game that speaks to the explosive growth of pickleball in the country.
Over the first two days of competition, the tournament has seen action across doubles categories — both women's and men's — with international players mixing with local Vietnamese talent, producing high-level matches that have kept the crowd glued to the stands throughout.
The level of organization has been another of the event's quiet protagonists. From the real-time scoring system to the tournament's audiovisual production, D-Joy Tour Leg 2 has operated to the standards of a first-class event — something that has not gone unnoticed among the international players in attendance.

The Story of the Day: Turkovic and Fudge Are Unstoppable
If the tournament had one match that captured everything happening on these Vietnamese courts, it was the Pro Women's Doubles semifinal. Domenika Turkovic and Megan Fudge (@officialmegafudge) delivered top-tier pickleball in their victory over Boi Ngoc Si and Connie Lee by a commanding 11-0, 11-1 — a scoreline that left absolutely no room for doubt.
Turkovic, one of the most complete players on the international circuit, and Fudge, a standard-bearer of American women's pickleball, formed a partnership that worked with the precision of a Swiss watch. Their point control, their on-court communication, and their ability to manage the pressure of a high-stakes semifinal was a masterclass for everyone watching.
The APP Tour's own Instagram highlighted the performance as a "DOMINANT PERFORMANCE" — and the label was more than deserved.
Both players are now through to Sunday's grand final, where they will defend their place at the top of the women's draw against what promises to be equally formidable opposition.

What to Expect on Sunday
Sunday closes the BIDV Cup 2026 | D-Joy Pickleball Tour Leg 2 with finals across all categories — and the atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh City promises to match the occasion.
Turkovic and Fudge arrive at the final with the confidence of a semifinal they controlled from start to finish. But the women's draw has shown throughout these days that the overall level is high — and in a final, any point can change everything.
In the men's draw, Saturday's matches also defined the finalists, with players who have made clear that the D-Joy Tour Leg 2 is no exhibition event. It is real competition, with real stakes, and players who came to Vietnam to win.
The D-Joy Pickleball South Saigon will host its most important session of the week on Sunday — and at DINK Authority Magazine, we will be following every point of what promises to be an unforgettable closing day.

A Final Thought
Just a few years ago, talking about professional pickleball in Vietnam would have seemed like a fantasy. Today — with 52 courts in a single complex, the backing of one of the country's largest banks, players like Megan Fudge and Domenika Turkovic competing in Ho Chi Minh City, and the APP Tour as a strategic partner — that fantasy has become reality.
Pickleball has no borders. And the D-Joy Tour is the most compelling proof of that.
"See you on the courts."
