APP 2027 Schedule: Double Prize Money and Golden Tickets
APP Unveils Its 2027 Season: Double the Prize Money, More Livestreams and Golden Tickets at Every Event
Bigger, better paid and on more screens. The APP Tour, billed as the world's first and best pickleball tour, unveiled its 2027 U.S. calendar: 12 stops, double the prize money for the pros, expanded livestream coverage and, for the first time in its history, USA Pickleball Golden Ticket status at every event. It is a move that strengthens the APP platform for players, fans and partners.
The announcement came Thursday, Oct. 8, from Chicago. The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) enters its ninth full season with a global calendar of more than 60 events, bringing together its U.S. tour stops, the new APP Moneyball Series, APP Asia events and international tournaments through the Global Pickleball Alliance (GPA). The complete schedule will be announced soon.
The money doubles
The headline that matters most in the locker room is the money. The APP will double prize money for its professionals, a direct bet on making pickleball a sustainable career rather than a weekend adventure. As Ken Herrmann announced in August, the purse goes from $1.5 million to $3 million.
"Our 2027 calendar reflects our continued commitment to the players and communities who have built this tour with us, and our confidence in the APP's lead role in building the future of professional pickleball," said APP Founder Ken Herrmann. "Doubling professional prize money and expanding our livestream coverage are direct investments in our athletes, giving them greater earning potential and visibility as we build a tour that supports long-term professional careers. The always-popular Golden Ticket tournaments further strengthen our connection with USA Pickleball and create meaningful opportunities for competitors. We are proud of the respect the APP has earned around the world, and we enter the new year with strong momentum and a clear ambition to raise the standard for pickleball."
More pickleball on screen
The 2027 APP Tour slate features 12 nationally televised tournaments across the United States, ranging from familiar fan favorites to first-time destinations. Every stop will air nationally on ESPN and CBS Sports, plus hundreds of hours on livestream platforms. More airtime means more visibility for players and more value for sponsors. The exciting Shriners Children's APP Pro Invitational also returns.

Golden Tickets across the calendar
For amateur players, the news is historic: for the first time, every 2027 event will be a Golden Ticket tournament, offering a path to the 2027 and 2028 USA Pickleball National Championships. Alongside the world's best professionals, the AARP Champions (50+) and AARP Masters (60+) divisions will also compete, and the tournaments are open to players of all ages and skill levels.

Much more than the tour
The full 2027 calendar is rounded out by the APP Asia Tour, which brings elite competition to Malaysia, Japan, Vietnam and beyond, while Global Pickleball Alliance (GPA) nations will host events across Europe, Australia, India and more. At home, APP Next, the player development series, will host several events; the APP Selkirk Collegiate Series will bring together the nation's top college programs; and the APP Moneyball Series will keep opening the path for aspiring pros to reach the APP Tour. Schedules and registration for these events will be announced soon.
More investment in the tour and its players
The higher prize money strengthens the APP's professional competition platform, while expanded livestream coverage will bring more action to fans and more visibility to athletes and sponsors. Golden Ticket status across the calendar gives eligible competitors the chance to qualify for USA Pickleball Nationals, connecting the APP's national footprint with one of the sport's premier championship stages.
"The APP's standing as an internationally respected professional pickleball organization is a source of tremendous pride and a foundation for continued growth," said APP Chief Revenue Officer Ryan McSpadden. "This calendar gives our partners a compelling platform across key markets, with more live coverage and greater investment in the athletes at the center of the experience. We are excited to build on that momentum with sponsors and investors who share our belief in pickleball's future."
