Seven straight titles for Munro and Livornese, back-to-back singles golds for Domenika Turkovic, a first gold together for Bobbi Oshiro and Kat Stewart, and a whole city dancing to Shaggy. This is how the inaugural Humana APP Louisville Open unfolded.

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 18, 2026. Louisville knows big stages, and this weekend it added one more. The Kentucky International Convention Center welcomed the APP Tour for the first time, and from the inside, with the DINK Authority team on court and behind the scenes, we watched it turn into a pickleball celebration. Five gold medal matches, thousands of people filling downtown, and a Sunday that ended with custom Louisville Slugger baseball bats in the hands of the champions. There could be no better trophy for a debut in Derby country.

While the pros lit up Championship Court, the city outside was living PickleY’all, the first-ever Louisville Pickleball Festival, crafted by Humana and the APP. Over two days, thousands of locals filled downtown with activities for all ages, and on Saturday, Grammy Award winner Shaggy got everyone dancing with a free concert. Pickleball, music and community, all in one place.

Sunday Started With a College Flavor

Before the finals, Championship Sunday opened with college pickleball. The University of Kentucky club team’s varsity and junior varsity squads played singles, doubles and mixed in front of the home crowd, as part of the APP Selkirk Collegiate Series, which brings together the nation’s top college club teams. It was the perfect opening act for what was coming.

Munro and Livornese: Seven for Seven

They arrived with six straight men’s doubles titles, and the question all weekend was whether number seven would come. It did, but it wasn’t easy. Across the net were No. 3 seeds Zack Marceau and Aidan Schenk, who had game one in their hands, serving for it at 10-8 and again at 10-9. Richard Livornese Jr. and Jack Munro refused to give in, flipped it 12-10, and from there it was no contest: 11-2 and a seventh consecutive crown.

“We had to get really creative,” said Munro. “They were adjusting on the go consistently, so we had to go with the flow, and it showed with how quickly we adjusted.”

Livornese Jr. offered a line that applies to any player: “Something we’ve been talking about is ‘feelings aren’t facts.’ Sometimes we come into the day and maybe we feel a certain way. Maybe it’s nerves or low energy, but that’s not our story. We get to choose how we react to that, and I thought we did a good job of that today.”

Jay Devilliers and Tanner Tomassi took bronze.

Oshiro and Stewart: A First Gold Together

The women’s doubles final pitted the South Florida duo of Bobbi Oshiro and Kat Stewart against the international pairing of Glauka Carvajal Lane and Domenika Turkovic. Oshiro and Stewart took control early and won game one 11-2. In game two, Carvajal Lane and Turkovic led for much of the way, including an 8-6 lead, but Oshiro and Stewart battled back to win 11-9 and celebrate their first APP Tour gold as a team.

For Bobbi Oshiro, it was extra sweet: she arrived in Louisville with eight medals this year and no golds. Now she has one.

“The name of the game was that we had a game plan going into every match,” said Oshiro. “We adjusted if need be, but it was about being able to stay disciplined, executing shots, and sticking to the game plan from the first point to the last point. We followed that, and were able to take it home.”

Stewart brought the emotion: “Bobbi’s an O.G. She’s trusted me from the beginning of my pickleball career, so it’s really sweet to get a gold with her.”

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg presented the champions with their trophy. Shelby Bates and Christine Maddox took bronze.

A Mixed Doubles Final With Four Flags

It’s rare for a final to bring together four nations. On one side, the Netherlands’ Roos Van Reek and Austin, Texas native Jack Munro. On the other, Croatia’s Domenika Turkovic and France’s Jay Devilliers. Van Reek and Munro, who had already won three golds together at international events this year, showed impressive chemistry: 11-3 in game one. Turkovic and Devilliers made a push in game two, but it wasn’t enough, and Van Reek and Munro closed it out 11-5 to win their first APP Tour U.S. gold as a team.

With that, Munro left Louisville with two doubles golds, for the third time this season.

“We’ve been playing a lot of tournaments this year, and I’m super happy to play with Jack,” said Van Reek. “Our communication is very good, and we’re always proud to play with each other.”

Kat Stewart and Richard Livornese Jr. took bronze.

Ronan Camron, Clutch When It Counted

The men’s singles final was a showdown between the top two seeds: Ronan Camron against Dusty Boyer. Camron took a tight game one, 11-9. Boyer answered with authority, 11-5. With game three tied at 8-8, Camron reeled off the final three points, 11-8, to celebrate his second singles gold of the year.

“The difference maker was keeping my head down and hitting good returns,” said Camron. “I knew if I could get a good return in, I’d have great looks. It was a slow-dragging final, and we were both trying our hardest.”

Eduardo Irizarry earned bronze, his first APP Tour medal since April 2025.

Domenika Turkovic: The Cover Star’s Double

And to close, the story we at DINK Authority have been following closely. Domenika Turkovic, our October cover star, came in as the defending champion after winning her first gold in Columbus. Across the net was top seed Kat Stewart, who is having an unstoppable 2026.

Game one was a back-and-forth battle that Stewart closed 11-9. Turkovic came out of the break firing and took game two 11-4. In game three she built a 10-4 lead and held off Stewart’s late charge to win 11-7. Back-to-back women’s singles golds.

The best part came in her words. Turkovic and Stewart travel the tour together, and the Croatian dedicated part of the win to the rival she had just beaten:

“I’m really proud of my progress, both on and off the court,” Turkovic said. “Kat has actually helped me so much, because I feel like we work smarter and not necessarily harder, and that has changed my game completely. So, big thanks to her.”

Turkovic left Louisville with one gold and two silvers, in women’s doubles and mixed. Bobbi Oshiro took singles bronze.

The Veterans Shone Too

In the AARP Champions (50+) division, Carolina Lopez Ascarate had a tournament to remember: she won all three golds for a Triple Crown, taking women’s doubles with Lee Whitwell, mixed with Marcello Jardim, and women’s singles.

In AARP Masters (60+), Heather Iffert won two golds: women’s doubles with Ginny Purdy and mixed with Mark Wilder. Rich Lively and Ross Weinberg took men’s doubles, and Adam Painter won men’s singles.

Louisville also hosted the latest round of the Humana Cup, the APP’s season-long team competition for pros 50 and older.

What’s Next

Highlights from the Humana APP Louisville Open will air nationwide on ESPN2 and CBS Sports Network in the coming weeks. The APP Tour heads west for its next stop, the APP Arizona Open, Nov. 12-15.

And DINK Authority isn’t leaving Louisville empty-handed. During our on-site coverage, we caught up with many of the tour’s key figures, and we’ll soon publish our exclusive interviews with Tom Webb, the APP’s Chief Marketing Officer, Daniel Sagerman, the APP’s Media Relations Officer, and several of the athletes who stepped in front of our camera: their routines, their rituals and what really happens behind the scenes at an APP Tour event.
