COLUMBUS, Ohio — Few cities take their sports as seriously as Columbus. Starting Thursday, the APP Tour puts that reputation to the test as the world's top professionals, AARP Champions (50+) competitors and hundreds of amateurs converge on Pickle & Chill, the Midwest's largest dedicated indoor/outdoor pickleball facility, for the 2026 APP Columbus Open Presented by The James.
Ranking points, prize money and medals are on the line over four days, with the action building toward national TV windows on ESPN2 and CBS Sports Network.
Six in a row?
The headline act remains Jack Munro and Richard Livornese Jr. The pair arrive in Columbus riding five consecutive men's pro doubles titles after beating Etienne Blaszkewycz and Callan Dawson in the Overland Park final, a repeat of their Detroit showdown weeks earlier. Both men now own six APP gold medals this season, most among men's pros. Munro, who also took mixed doubles silver in Kansas, leads the tour with eight total medals in 2026.

Fudge one win from history
Megan Fudge is now level with Simone Jardim for the most women's pro gold medals in APP Tour history at 33, after she and Kat Stewart won the women's doubles title in Overland Park. One more gold in Columbus would give Fudge the record outright. She already holds the all-time mark for total APP medals with 94.
Wazir still perfect
Ammar Wazir has never lost a gold medal match. His win over Tristan Dussault in the Overland Park singles final moved him to 6-0 in finals for his career and gave him his third men's singles title of the year.
The Florida wave
Sunshine State players are shaping this season's storylines. Orlando's Tristan Dussault, just 18, captured his first career APP gold in mixed doubles with Allison Harris in Overland Park and added singles silver, climbing to No. 5 in the APP U.S. men's singles rankings. Fort Myers' Ronan Camron, 21, remains the No. 1 men's singles pro in the U.S. rankings and sits second on tour with seven medals this year. And Jake Bower, a former APP U.S. Collegiate champion from Florida, earned his first career APP medal with singles bronze in Overland Park.
Breakouts and returns
Long Island's Amber Policare announced herself in Overland Park with her first two career APP medals: women's doubles silver alongside Glauka Carvajal-Lane (her first APP medal since 2024) and women's singles bronze. On the international front, Vietnam's Quang Duong returns to competition in Columbus, while Jay Devilliers continues his 2026 APP campaign after reaching the men's doubles quarterfinals with Tanner Tomassi in his season debut.
Buckeyes vs. Bobcats
Before Sunday's gold medal matches, Ohio State and Ohio University's club teams will meet in a collegiate exhibition at 9 a.m. ET on Oct. 4, with in-state bragging rights at stake.
