“Pickleball came into my life to stay.” — JAIME MEDINA

For Jaime Medina, sport has always been more than competition.

His journey began in Puerto Rico, where he developed a deep connection with athletics from an early age.

He later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, as well as a Doctorate in Special Education, and has spent years working with students and communities.

Today, he uses that experience — on and off the court — to inspire, teach, and create opportunities for others.

SPORT. COMMUNITY. OPPORTUNITY.

Through pickleball, Jaime Medina has helped bring people together, build skills, confidence, and a path toward a brighter future.

A Life In Sport

From his early days in volleyball to his professional career and now pickleball, sport has been a constant in Jaime Medina’s life, shaping who he is today.

He went on to become a professional coach, working with athletes and teams, gaining a deep understanding of the game from different perspectives.

Discovering Pickleball

Just a few years ago, Jaime Medina discovered pickleball in an unexpected way.

While scrolling through social media, something caught his attention.

“It was something I was telling myself — I want you to discover me,” he recalls.

That moment of curiosity quickly turned into a new passion.

Since then, pickleball has become an important part of his weekly routine.

Today, he plays four to five times a week, always working to improve his level while enjoying the competitive and social aspects of the game.

EDUCATOR. LEADER. MENTOR.

For the past 25 years, Jaime Medina has dedicated his career to education.

He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physical Education, as well as a Doctorate in Special Education.

His work has focused on helping students with diverse needs, creating inclusive learning environments, and building confidence through sport.

Pickleball And Inclusion

Alongside volunteers and collaborators, Jaime has participated in inclusive pickleball clinics supported by the Dink Authority Magazine Foundation.

But his commitment to inclusion goes far beyond the court.

Medina works with the School District of Osceola County, where he is involved with the Project SEARCH program, an educational initiative designed to prepare young people with different learning needs for the workforce.

Through this program, students receive hands-on training in a variety of professional areas, developing workplace, social, and life skills that help them move toward greater independence.

In the Orlando area, many of these students complete part of their training in real work environments within the hospitality and service industries, including locations such as Gaylord Palms Resort, one of the region’s most recognized hotel destinations.

Within this educational process, Medina has found pickleball to be a powerful tool for building confidence, teamwork, and social interaction.

A Game That’s Here To Stay

For Jaime Medina, pickleball is more than a sport.

It is a mission that connects, inspires, and transforms lives.

From the volleyball courts of his youth to the pickleball courts of today, Jaime’s journey has been guided by the same purpose: using sport as a powerful tool to build confidence, community, and opportunity.

Through his work with students, teachers, volunteers, and community partners, he continues to open doors for young people — especially those who need it most.

Whether on the court, in the classroom, or at a local clinic, Jaime leads with heart, positivity, and a deep belief in the potential of others.

He knows that when people feel included, supported, and empowered, anything is possible.

The sport continues to grow, and so does the impact.

Jaime looks forward to expanding programs, creating more inclusive opportunities, and inspiring the next generation of players and leaders.

As he sees it, the story is far from over.

In fact, it’s just beginning.
